Locking Orders!
4 months ago – Tue, Dec 16, 2025 at 01:54:42 PM

Hi Folks,

Just a quick note that I'm going to press the button to lock your orders, so if you want to make any changes, now's the time! After the orders are locked, I'll charge the credit cards, which will enable me to send out all the eBooks for those books that are released!

There's only about 19 surveys outstanding, so great work, everyone! Get those last ones in, as I need to get totals for our first two books releasing. I've already made an order for The Dragonscale Comb, by J.S. Fields, which released today, and I hope to receive those books very soon so I can ship them out! Corruption, by Alexander Verbeek-van den Toren, is releasing January 13th, so I'm going to make an  order for those soon to get the books to you as quick as I can.

Meanwhile, it's award season! Voting for the Indie Ink Awards just opened up, and these Space Wizard books are eligible in the following categories:

I'll be back soon with another update, but I hope everyone has a very happy end of the year and associated holidays!

Surveys are going out!
4 months ago – Tue, Dec 09, 2025 at 08:13:23 AM

Hi Folks!

I just pushed the button on the Smoke Test for Space Wizard Science Fantasy Year 4 Part 2. This will test 5% of backers to make sure there aren't any issues with the surveys. If all goes well today, I'll likely send out the rest tomorrow, so look for yours!

The faster these get filled in, the faster I can start ordering books for our first two releases:
The Dragonscale Comb, by J.S. Fields, releasing December 16th
Corruption, by Alexander Verbeek-van den Toren, releasing January 13th

They're coming up soon!

That's all for now, so again, look for your survey in another day or two.

Space Wizard Year 4 is complete!
4 months ago – Wed, Dec 03, 2025 at 04:14:36 PM

We are funded and finished! Thank you so much to everyone for once again helping bring Space Wizard books to life. Here are all the book covers for the great new stories coming to you!

 What Happens Next:
 • Card Processing: BackerKit will now begin charging cards. Please make sure your payment info is up to date to avoid any issues.
 • Surveys: Backer surveys will go out as soon as I finish them up! I'll be setting up the pledge manager in the next few days and I'm hoping to get surveys out to you next week. The first book from this campaign, The Dragonscale Comb, releases on December 16th, so I want to get that to you as soon as possible.

Here's a little bit of the aftermath, and a bonus for you! (keep reading until the end for FREE STUFF...)

The Book Bazaar raised just $49 short of $51 thousand dollars with 1901 backers, and all 22 campaigns funded! That's really amazing for a first time collaboration, and owes a lot to Aimee Cozza, of The Lucky Machine, for keeping us all in line and making everything worked seamlessly. Rest assured, there will be another Book Bazaar...perhaps even sooner than you think!

As promised, here are the answers to the polls!

1) "Would you like to see a "Crossroads George" card game from Space Wizard, in the universe of Kristina W. Kelly's Tales of Trelvania?"
- The correct answer is yes, yes you would. Maybe this will happen in the next year?

2) "Where do you think the characters in Fractal Terminus are going, from looking at the cover?"
- Actually all of these answer are correct, in some way! (except for the turtles. Sorry, turtles)

3) "What new items do you think will be included in the final cover for Mothball Magic?"
- There were two correct answers to this one: "A toiletry bag" and "Laser eyes" (or glowing, at least)

4) "What's your favorite mythical creature from Yuro?"
- The correct answer is "Pegasus." I won't be taking questions.

5) "Which house of ancestor magic would you choose?"
- The winner of this one was "Travel Magic." I guess people want to get where they're going!

6) "What crystal would you have in your chest?"
- This one had a tie! We've got a lot of artists and outcasts in our crowd. Too true.

7) "What happened to the magic in Talio Rossa's world?"
- We must have had some readers of the first book! Two of the three correct answers tied. All three of these are, in some sense, true: "It exploded, and took out the capital city," "All the mages were killed. Magic still exists, but no one can use it," and "It's all trapped behind that blue wall of energy."

And, our bonus announcement! (Thanks for reading to the bottom)
Even though we didn't quite make it to the $8,000 stretch goal, we got pretty close, at $7,670! That's only about $300 off, and I usually have some extra funds come in with the surveys and addons.
So...
The Dissolution Trilogy will be getting new covers, AND you will all be getting an eBook copy with the new covers included (and maybe a digital print, we'll see what happens.). I have some concepts in mind, and I plan to work with one of two artists. I need to figure out who will work best for the scenes I have in mind. Here are the old covers, to compare. I still like these, but they're getting a little dated (they're from 2020).

That's it for now! I'll send out another update when I get the surveys ready, so keep an eye out!

24 hours left and new titles for Tea Tale!
4 months ago – Tue, Dec 02, 2025 at 01:00:00 PM

Hi Folks!

We've got just 24 hours left in the campaign! If you've already pledged but have been receiving emails that you haven't, sorry about that! BackerKit is having some issues with their email filtering system and they're trying to track down the issue for us. We might have it fixed now.
(But if you haven't pledged...then now's your chance! Can I interest you in 5 eBooks for $4 each?)

Make sure to come watch on December 3rd in the last hour! You can join a few of us for a wrap-up stream where we talk about our campaigns and what we did along the way. We'll be on Twitch at 3 PM ET until our campaigns end at 4 PM (Or even longer if you back right before the campaigns end and send us into overtime!)

We're also only $66 away from our first stretch goal! That means if you want me to write you a new story (which might be connected to the special anthology we send out to backers of 5 or more projects and might also be connected to my free story on Itch.io) then help us get past the goal! If we manage to hit $8000 before we end, my Dissolution Trilogy will be getting updated covers from one of the artists you've seen in this campaign, and you'll all get free eBook copies with the new art! Let's see how far we can go!

Oh, and speaking of art for you: Audrey Logsdon just sent the draft of the titles for Tea Tale and I love them! They have a nice shimmery feel to them like the rest of the winter tale in the book.

Finally, 21 out of 22 projects are completely funded for The Book Bazaar. I'd call that a big success! Want to help us get everyone funded? Then please help out The Primal Rift, a D&D-themed YA adventure, with in-game resources! They're over 80% funded, so they just need one last boost!

That's it for now! Come watch the stream tomorrow and I'll see you again for the post-campaign wrapup.

Our last cover is here!
4 months ago – Sat, Nov 29, 2025 at 08:15:34 AM

Hi Folks!

Just in time, we've got the last cover of our seven books. Without further ado, I present J. Alexander Cohen's Talio Rossa and the Elixir of Life:

If you like fantasy cities, courtroom drama, M/M romance, and a touch of magic, try this one out.
And, since we have a new book, that means we have a new poll, so make sure to cast your vote below!

We've got about four and a half days left in the campaign and plenty of stretch goals to hit. Please keep telling friends and family about Space Wizard Year 4.
There's also a special Small Business Saturday pledge level you can tell them about. You can get 5 eBooks for $4 each, but there's a limited amount. Once all 20 are taken, that's it!

The Book Bazaar as a whole is doing great! 19 out of 22 projects are funded, and with over 1500 backers, we've collectively raised just over 42 thousand dollars!
So please help these last three projects to fund and let's make The Book Bazaar a complete success!

Thanks for all your support so far, and let's hit some stretch goals! Watch out for an update on the last day, when I'll have all the answers to the polls!
